The exhibition dedicated to the famous Prussian painter Franz Kruger (1797-1867) was held at the Hermitage Museum in 1997. Many of Kruger's portraits of the tsar's family and nobility can be now considered documents of Russian history. This catalogue by the notable scholar Boris Asvarishch presents works from Russian museums and the Berlin Nationalgalerie.
