The exhibition of 18th- and 19th-century St Petersburg jewelry was held at the Hermitage in 2000-2001. The exhibition featured more than 100 pieces created by famous St Petersburg artists. The author, Olga Kostyuk, reflects on historic events which exerted influence upon the evolution of style and fashion and changed jewelry aesthetics.
