This excellent Easter egg was made of two-layer glass and covered with a special compound which makes its surface look like silk. Exquisite decoration of this egg is added by three Russian crowns. Glass and porcelain eggs with monograms and symbols of Emperors' power used to be made for members of Emperors' families or were given to the courtiers as Easter presents from the Emperor and the Empress.
