A poster of Girl with a Fan by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The original (1881, France; oil on canvas, 25 1/2 x 19 3/4 in.) came to the Hermitage in 1930 from the State Museum of New Western Art in Moscow. The Girl with a Fan is Alphonsine Fournaise, the daughter of the owner of the La Grenouillere bar. Her beauty is not in her classical features, but in the qualities admired by Renoir - her charming youth, her fresh and lively face, and shining eyes.
