This statuette is a reproduction of the original from the Hermitage collection. Peter Breuer, the known German sculptor, in 1889 created a model of a sitting nude girl's statue which has received the name Spring. Two years later, recreated in marble, the statue attracted much attention and was marked at the art exhibition in Berlin. Within the next few years the statuette was reproduced in bronze several times, its sizes varied only. It has been skillfully crafted by experienced workmen of the Hermitage workshops.
