This statuette is a reproduction of the original from the Hermitage collection. James Pradie is a well-known Swiss sculptor who lived in Paris for many years. Alongside with religious and gravestone monuments, monumental works, portraits and statues on mythological plots the sculptor also created small graceful statuettes representing nude or half-nude female figures. The model The Sitting Diana appeared nearly 1840 and then was repeated in bronze. It has been skillfully crafted by experienced workmen of the Hermitage workshops.
