For many people Faberge's greatest achievement as a goldsmith and jeweler was not the fabulous Imperial Easter eggs but the artificial flowers, which are so different from the Imperial creations. Where the eggs are the result of flights of imagination and technical ingenuity, the flowers are simple studies from nature, executed in precious materials. The Lily of the Valley was the most frequently used floral motif in the Faberge's workshops. Rock crystal, gold, cachalong, nephrite. Hand-made. Height 5 1/4 in. (13.5 cm). Gift packaging. |
