The museum is closed on Mondays, 1 January and 9 May
Visiting is organized by time slots.
The ticket offices stop working an hour before the museum closes.
An entrance ticket is valid for the chosen time slot and only on the specified day. Tickets can be obtained in advance through the website or at the ticket office on the day. An entrance ticket provides the opportunity to independently view the permanent displays and temporary exhibitions

Concessions, free-of-charge visiting to the Main Museum Complex
Free-of-charge visiting is available on any day that the museum is open to the following categories:*:
– Children under 14 (irrespective of citizenship)
– Families with three or more children under 18 (citizens of the Russian Federation and other states of the Eurasian Economic Union)
– Child invalids (irrespective of citizenship)
– One person accompanying a child invalid (irrespective of citizenship)
– Veterans of military operations (in accordance with Article 3 of the Federal Law “On Veterans” of 12 January 1995 No 5-ФЗ)
– Participants of the SMO
– Family members of participants of the SMO (irrespective of citizenship)
– Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, including holders of the Medal for the Defence of Leningrad, invalids from childhood due to wounds, contusion or mutilation resulting from military actions during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45
– Holders of the Resident of Besieged Leningrad badge
– Former under-age inmates of concentration camps, ghettos and other places of forcible detention created by the fascists and their allies during the Great Patriotic War (irrespective of citizenship)
– Invalids of the 1st group (citizens of the Russian Federation and other states of the Eurasian Economic Union)
– Invalids of the 2nd group (citizens of the RF and other states of the EAEU)
– One person accompanying an invalid of the 1st or 2nd group (irrespective of citizenship)1
– Officer cadets attending educational institutions in the RF (irrespective of citizenship)
– Servicemen doing compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
– Full Members of the Order of Glory
– Full Members of the Order of Labour Glory
– Heroes of the Soviet Union
– Heroes of the Russian Federation
– Heroes of Socialist Labour
– Staff of museums in the Russian Federation
– Members of creative unions of the Russian Federation and members of professional unions of workers in culture and art of the RF
– Members of ICOM (the International Council of Museums)
1 Visitors in the category “Invalids of the 2nd group (citizens of the RF and other states of the EAEU)” have the right to be accompanied by one person with a free-of-charge ticket in cases where the invalid visitor requires another’s help to enter the museum premises or move around them: invalids with damage to the locomotor apparatus, wheelchair-users, invalids with impaired vision, and others.
Concessionary rates on any day that the museum is open and free-of-charge visiting every Thursday is available to the following categories:*:
– Children aged 14–17 (irrespective of citizenship)
– Students (those following main programmes of professional education) attending educational institutions in the RF (irrespective of citizenship)
– Postgraduate students, interns and registrar doctors (irrespective of citizenship) attending educational institutions in the RF
– Pensioners (citizens of the Russian Federation and other states of the Eurasian Economic Union)
Free-of-charge visiting to the museum on special festive days
! To enter the museum you will need to present an ID document as well as a document confirming your right to a given concession.
